Description:
As a vital member of our Safety and Security team, you will assist be a key contributor in working towards our vision of providing a high standard of security while providing an exceptional customer experience. In this role you will be accountable for all aspects of security operations at BMO Field Coca-Cola Coliseum, including the physical venue and the events. This role is a hands-on position with an emphasis on customer service suited for a person who has a passion with working with fans, security staff, and other departments, yet also one is organized and meticulous in delivering effective security strategies.
Responsibilities
- This role will report to the Director, Security Operations for delivery while working closely with the Security Programs and Safety team for program and operational support.
- Oversees all aspects of facility and events security at BMO Field
- Provide leadership, management and oversight of all events and Guards (event & facility) at BMO Field and Coca-Cola Coliseum
- Lead, manage, and motivate the department’s assistant managers, coordinators, supervisors, 40+ facility and provide support and mentoring for the 220+ event security services staff
- Lead/oversee all BMO Field and Coca-Cola Coliseum operational events or ensure appropriate leadership is onsite when not physically present
- Develops security plans, procedures and post orders related to the operation of the facilities and the teams’ activities including the Toronto FC, the Toronto Argos, Toronto Marlies and LIVE/special Events
- Acts as the security primary point of contact for league and team security representatives for stadium matters
- Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with appropriate team personnel, facility personnel, contractors, local law enforcement, other MLSE employees
- Oversees the functionality of and requirements for safety and security infrastructure including CCTV, access control, doors/locks, fences, AEDs, first aid kits/supplies and other infrastructure and supplies that are part of the safety and security program
- Continues to look for efficiencies and modernization of systems and programs including security infrastructure and design
- Assists in the development of guard procedures and training programs
- Applies and executes MLSE security policies, procedures, and standards,
- Provides guidance and input on facility security requirements and operations to MLSE Corporate Safety & Security,
- Provides access control to team spaces and practice areas at the team’s facilities
- Verifies facility access approval and identification credentials,
- Plans for, directs, and supervises contracted security service personnel in accordance with services contracts
- Facilitates player and employee arrivals, departures, and movements within the team facilities,
- Conducts regular safety and security assessments, and reviews, related to the facilities
- Ensures all league submittals relating to security are completed prior to and post game
- Responsible to develop and meet budget targets
- Assists with the identification of and development business cases to replace systems/infrastructure
- Reports security incidents, issues, and concerns to MLSE Security and Safety Programs, and
- Performs other security related duties as directed

- Security guard recruitment, training, uniforms, tools and equipment, CBA negotiations
- Policy, procedures, SOP standards/design
- Invoicing, contracts, procurement of large items, tools and equipment
- Third-party contracts/contract management except on the day-of
- Capital projects, program management, large infrastructure procurement or maintenance of systems/equipment
- Credentialing, access control programs, keying, visitor management programs
- League and team liaison for medium-term and long-term events and special events
- Parking and ground transportation policies, revenue, contracts
