Scrum Master

 

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrum Master to join our team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on a contract basis. This hybrid role requires the candidate to possess at least 6 years of experience working in Agile delivery environments, with a strong focus on SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and API/distributed systems.

As a Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching teams on Agile best practices, and ensuring that teams adhere to SAFe principles. The ideal candidate will have a Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM, or SAFe SM, combined with excellent facilitation, servant leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate essential Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Act as a servant leader guiding Agile teams and ensuring alignment with SAFe and Agile frameworks.
  • Work closely with API and distributed system teams, enabling them to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions.
  • Identify and actively remove team impediments, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and other stakeholders to improve Agile maturity across teams.
  • Monitor and report sprint metrics, team velocity, and overall project health.
  • Coach and mentor team members to enhance their Agile capabilities and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure seamless communication and effective cross-team collaboration within the SAFe framework.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and Agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience working in an API/distributed systems environment.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, SAFe SM, or equivalent) – Certification is mandatory.
  • Exceptional facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Rally, etc.
  • Strong communication skills with proven stakeholder management and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Ability to drive Agile transformations and promote continuous improvement.
