Description:
Reporting to the Inventory and System Data Manager, the incumbent will support our internal clients during the coding process in order to meet our quality standards and reactivity requirements and contribute to an efficient supply flow. They will handle a wide variety of parts which are primarily related to the maintenance of our assets, and they will contribute to updating, correcting, and improving our entire database.
In this role, you will:
- Creating and maintaining item files in SAP MDG based on maintenance and production needs, for example.
- Complying with database management and quality standards.
- Monitoring requests to ensure consistency and reliability and avoid duplication.
- Managing requests to modify or delete item codes.
- Training and supporting new users in the creation and maintenance of item files.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of item data in SAP and proposing solutions to optimize data quality, reliability and performance.
- Monitoring indicators and prioritizing tasks as required and documenting issues and anomalies.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SAP MDG and item file transactions (or another system for creating items).
- Experience with classification systems (UNSPSC, eOTD, etc.)
- A good understanding of how unit conversion works.
- A basic knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, maintenance and materials management.
- Technical knowledge of maintenance parts categories is an asset.
- A thorough, organized, self-starter with a curious nature and a love of research.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Good analytical and summarizing skills.
- A good level of English is required and knowledge of Spanish is a plus (inter-regional collaboration and trilingual item database in French, English and Spanish).
- At ease with information systems and data manipulation (SAP, Excel, etc.).
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of college studies and significant experience in the field (procurement, information systems, engineering, etc.)
- At least 2 years of experience in creating and maintaining item files in SAP MDG, or in a similar position.
