PURPOSE
This position works closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) to support all sales initiatives. A Sales Coordinator will assist the DOSM to develop and implement plans and activities for the hotel to increase brand awareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target markets and address hotel business needs. The Sales Coordinator is also responsible for supporting the Sales Manager to maximize revenue; and working collaboratively to support the sales office to achieve budget. Additional responsibilities for this role included fielding incoming phone calls, maintaining office and client files, creating gift certificates, creating Purchase Orders, timely generation of appropriate reports and other duties as required.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous sales and/or administrational experience in a similar hotel environment
- Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work under pressure at all times
- Knowledge of computer design/graphic software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher Photography, video and video editing experience an asset
- Research and develop new opportunities within key target markets
- Produce monthly reports as required
- Must possess exceptional customer-focused skills
- Must be able to build and maintain credibility and relationships with customers (internal and external)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven ability in time management and handle multiple priorities; must be able to plan and execute effectively and efficiently and meet deadlines in a demanding environment
- Active team player and self-starter
- Must have a focus on detail and driving topline results
- Possess a strong sense of urgency, pro-activeness and a high drive for results

- Strong knowledge of web-based software usage, navigation and CMS.
