The Revenue and Reporting Analyst is responsible for supporting the operations of the Revenue, Reporting and Information Systems branch, by preparing critical supporting fiscal information for the Treasury Board Secretariat decision-making process, public budget and other fiscal reports. Under the guidance of the Director, Revenue and Reporting, the Analyst compiles and analyzes Government of Alberta (GOA) financial data within a complex fiscal framework, supports fiscal outlook presentations for government planning purposes, uses strong facilitation and analytical skills to support advice on policy implications and legislation for Senior Officials, the Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Ministers.

In this role, the Revenue and reporting analyst will:

• Provide key support to the public reporting process – Support the preparation and publication of fiscal reports before legislated deadlines. Collaborate within TBS, TBF and GoA ministries for validating financial information. Prepares and reconciles financial tables for fiscal report publications.
• Contribute to the consolidated fiscal planning process- Prepare analysis of revenue, expense, capital plan and statement of operations based on Ministry submissions. Support training and provide guidance within the division and ministry finance branch officials on complex financial reporting requirements. Develop and manage inventory of ministry revenue sources and their drivers.
• Provide critical analysis and advice- Provide advice regarding financial and strategic policy based on comprehensive data and research to internal and external stakeholders. Prepare response emails, briefings, presentations and memos for communicating complex information to various different stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist the department of Treasury Board and Finance in developing and meeting its business plan goals, including participation in working groups.
• Participate in program and budget reviews conducted by the division to support Treasury Board decisions, Minister, and Deputy Minister.
• Participate in divisional projects and initiatives.
