Description:
The Assistant ReStore Manager will provide leadership support in overseeing the daily retail operations of the Habitat for Humanity Red Deer ReStore. The AM works closely to support the ReStore Director of Operations as the store management team. This permanent, full-time position (based on 37.5 hrs/week) reports to the ReStore Director and supervises some ReStore staff.
As the Red Deer ReStore is poised for continued growth, we are seeking a strategic thinker and enthusiastic leader who is up to the challenge! Essential skills for this role include: previous retail management experience including supervising and coaching other staff, building materials product knowledge, creative merchandising know-how, ability to implement innovative marketing strategies including digital and e-commerce, and exceptional customer service abilities.

Habitat Red Deer ReStore is a retail social enterprise and environmentally conscious initiative. All store proceeds support the sustainability of Habitat Red Deer affiliate operations, including the building of affordable homes for vulnerable, low-income families. We accept donations of new and gently used merchandise from individuals and businesses, keeping thousands of tonnes of usable items out of landfills every year. We provide an affordable, unique shopping experience offering building materials, home décor items and much more to the general public. Anyone can donate to and shop at our ReStore.
Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities and expectations of the Assistant ReStore Manager fall into five (5) key areas:
Retail & Financial Management:
· Ensures cashier duties and functions are being performed correctly and leads employee training on all aspects of POS operations
· Collects and documents information required for managerial reporting
· Completes record-keeping and tracking of donor tax receipt information for both corporate and individual donors
Customer & Donor Relations:
· Develops positive relationships with multiple donors and customers ensuring quality customer service
· Responds positively and proactively to customer inquiries and works diplomatically to address concerns and issues
· Ensures that all staff and volunteers adhere to customer service standards and operating procedures
