Description:
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Research Coordinator. This position will oversee the smooth operation of child health research projects and program administration in a diverse, inclusive and person-centered research program, under the supervision of Dr. Mandy Archibald. The research coordinator will demonstrate autonomy, self-direction, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
- Masters degree in a related study area is required.
- Two years of directly related experience required.
- Experience designing quantitative data capture tools and data presentation required.
- Previous experience with patient/participant contact and consenting of research participants required.
- Experience conducting qualitative research in health is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience coordinating clinical or community based research studies preferred.
- Experience drafting brief non-technical reports for communities, academic publications and presentations, and other written documents as requested.
- Experience using computer software for word processing and data management for qualitative and quantitative research required.
- Previous experience designing data capture tools (e.g. case report forms and/or data collection forms etc.) is preferred.
- Experience with scoping or systematic literature reviews is preferred.
- Experience with arts based research approaches and creative knowledge translation preferred.
- Experience in knowledge translation is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be able to engage patient participants in the research project.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong motivation and organizational skills required.
- Must be able to work within time and budget constraints.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of groups, including marginalized groups is required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team is required.
- Demonstrated ability in using computer software related to word processing (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook) and spreadsheets is required.
- Ability and willingness to learn new processes and techniques required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
