Receptionist / Office Clerk

 

Description:

In response to a maternity leave, the Town of Irricana is currently accepting applications for a Receptionist / Office Clerk. This is a key front-line role and plays a vital part in maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors and assisting in the delivery of municipal services.

Reporting to the Manager of Municipal Administration, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing reception duties, and supporting daily office operations, including*:

  • Customer Service and Reception
    • Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk, greeting visitors, answering calls, and assisting with inquiries.
    • Operate Point-of-Sale systems to process payments.
    • Process standard forms, including development permits, business license applications, and utility account applications.
    • Ensure positive interactions with the public, fostering a professional and approachable atmosphere.
  • Filing and Recordkeeping
    • Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date filing systems.
    • Support document management for various administrative records as needed.
  • Mail Management
    • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
    • Prepare and manage bulk mailings, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
  • Stationery and Office Inventory
    • Order, track, and maintain an adequate supply of stationery and other general office materials.
