Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities – Rentals, the Receptionist/Cashier is responsible for providing customer service in person at the reception desk through telephone and on-line, including:

  • dealing effectively with customer complaints and inquiries;

  • processing admissions for Town programs through Point of Sale software;

  • providing information and processing program registrations;

  • selling Town of Whitby retail items;

  • providing information on all Town services and policies;

  • receiving and processing payments for services and admissions;

  • reconciling daily receipts;

  • booking and processing of permits for indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and community centres;

  • providing clerical assistance in the form of preparing documentation, filing, record keeping, etc.; and

  • assisting with other projects/duties as may be required.
