Responsibilities

 

The Receptionist will provide customer service, reception support, and a variety of administrative tasks, that support the smooth and effective operations of the Employee and Family Health Clinic which serves a large and complex internal community of faculty and staff at Western.

Qualifications

 

Education:

  • One year Medical Office Administration Diploma

Experience:

  • 2 years of administrative experience in a medical office setting; experience with electronic medical records (e.g. Telus Practice Solutions Suite)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated typing and data entry skills, dicta-typing
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and Windows 11
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients
  • Positive outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with sound judgement
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
