Description:

Global Calgary has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Receptionist to join their team. Reporting to the Business Manager, the successful candidate would be responsible for providing reception and administrative support to the Global Calgary team between the hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. This is a Group A position under the current collective agreement.

  • Greeting, signing in, and providing a welcoming experience for employees, guests, and clients visiting the station.
  • Responding to viewer inquiries and feedback about Global programming via phone and email.
  • Answering a multi-line phone system in a professional manner, troubleshooting, and redirecting calls to appropriate parties when necessary.
  • General administrative duties such as: answering voicemails and emails, ordering/receiving office supplies, arranging couriers, distributing mail/parcels, processing invoices, organizing catering, faxing or photocopying documents, etc.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the reception area and meeting rooms.
  • Assisting in organizing station or staff events when needed.
  • Assisting various departments on administrative duties as required (distribution of prizing to contest winners, providing content for the Digital Newsletter, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative position is required.
  • Experience answering a multi-line phone system is preferred.
  • Understanding of broadcasting industry is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, and communication (verbal and written), skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a positive, friendly manner with a strong customer service approach.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain detail oriented while working in a fast-paced environment and multitasking.
  • Self-motivated team player with an ability to also work well independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy, tact, and sincerity in a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Skilled at using a photocopier and fax machine; with the ability to troubleshoot basic office equipment issues (paper jam, ink cartridge changes), etc.
  • Proactive, diligent, reliable, and punctual.
