Receiving/ Shipping/ Packaging Lead Hand

 

Description:

  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s FSQMS, GMP and H&S Policies.
  • Work with Assistant Production Supervisor and other area team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure the operation schedules are met.
  • After the designate Maintenance confirms the sorting machine is in working condition within the agreed process, ensuring the Sorting Machine set up / operation is completed in supplying required carcasses size to further processing establishment.
  • Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.
  • Perform required operations / MPIP duties as required, complete records/reports as required.
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s FSQMS, GMP and H&S Policies.
  • Review pre-shipment CCPs.
  • Obtain biological samples for QA if required.
  • Respond to operation problems on the floor in the packaging / holding cooler/receiving/shipping areas.
  • Attend to problems with support equipment where capable.
  • Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable slaughter operations and as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to Assistant Supervisor.
  • Work closely with other staff such as QA, Maintenance, Supervisor to resolve issues.
  • Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work and assist in material handling/ tools/ equipment/ operational set up.
  • Communicate problems/concerns with the team and the immediate supervisor.
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s FSQS.
  • Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Performs the health and safety inspection as per facility guidelines.
  • Wears appropriate PPE as required by work area.
  • Any other such task as may be consistent with the role of immediate Supervisor, as may be directed by the immediate manager.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum high school diploma/GED equivalency
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (preferred)

Required Competencies

  • Reading and writing in English
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Time Management: Planning around job tasks and organizing work.
  • Ability to interpret and apply government regulations as per training provided.
  • Work well in teams
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
