Description:
The Technical Specialist (Energy), Real Property Management provides real property management services in support of the delivery of client-partners' real property projects and programs. The incumbent acts as a technical specialist in implementing energy management programs, conducts research, studies, assessments and manages relationships with local client-partners. The Technical Specialist ensures that they are aware of the industry's best practices in their field. The Technical Specialist (Energy) is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the energy management system according to the principles of the ISO50001 standard.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
The following is a representative but not exhaustive list of job duties and responsibilities:
Primary Tasks
- Perform work on complex real estate projects (e.g., facility reviews, technical reviews, strategic plans, development plans).;
- Participate in the production of statements of business needs related to energy management, prepare business cases and conduct surveys as required.;
- Develop, implement and manage property management programs (preventive and on-demand maintenance administration) and energy management programs to ensure that buildings and systems remain energy efficient (e.g., identify maintenance and repair needs, establish liability for damages, and prepare technical estimates and reports).;
- Conduct facility audits to assess compliance, condition, maintenance requirements, energy efficiency and customer/partner satisfaction.;
- Provide support to the client-partner regarding the implementation of measures to improve energy efficiency and greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions on projects and service contracts.;
- Provide energy efficiency advice and guidance to project managers.;
- Support the implementation of the local action plan to monitor and analyze GHG emissions and monitor energy consumption at its site facilities.;
- Analyze and recommend the adoption of new energy efficient alternative technologies to improve site and building performance.;
- Assist in the search for funding sources and grants for energy efficiency measures.;
- Support the implementation of energy management programs, including billing validation to ensure optimization of rates and tariffs proposed by the various service companies.;
- Provide technical support in the planning of energy performance contracts (EPC) (opportunity assessment and facility information package).;
- Provide support during the execution of EPCs (Measurement Plan and Verification, validation of proposed measures and annual energy savings report).;
- Support and maintain a local awareness program on the implementation of energy efficient measures.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships within DCC, with industry, client-partners and stakeholders..
- Ensure quality standards are met in accordance with Corporate and client-partners' expectations.
Other
- Participate in the drafting of energy efficiency policies and guidelines.
- Prepare monthly reports (e.g., internally and for client-partners).
