Description:
Reporting to the Director, this position is responsible for all aspects of the oversight of the Quality of Care NL Program, including determining the strategic direction for QCNL within the SPOR initiative framework; working with Clinical and Social Research and Evaluation Leads to develop a research and evaluation agenda aligned with provincial health and social priorities; developing proposals to facilitate the administrative planning and implementation of strategic objectives; executing a sustainability plan for Quality of Care NL; managing partnerships with the provincial government on initiatives to improve health and social outcomes in Newfoundland and Labrador as related to Health Accord NL or alternate requests; working with provincial data custodians and associated data management entities to uphold appropriate data management processes for the Program; providing oversight of communications and stakeholder engagement activities, including social media and knowledge translation strategies and processes; representing QCNL on various committees and working groups; managing the day to day operations of QCNL, including oversight of the production of the biannual publication Practice Points and staff and budget management; performing joint work with various health and social system stakeholders to facilitate project collaboration and effective partnership working (e.g. Regional Health Authorities, research and evaluation groups, professional associations, unions, health care providers); and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess experience (5-7 years) in a progressively responsible leadership position responsible for academic research and evaluation administration; graduation with an undergraduate degree in a related area, supplemented by a Master's degree, preferably in Business or other related area; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting information and situations, conflict resolution, mediation, negotiating, and problem solving. Demonstrated strength in planning, organization, and interpersonal communication; and experience working effectively independently, as part of a team, and with the public are required. Experience in human resources policy and procedure application is required. Experience managing large multi-stakeholder research projects is an asset.
