Quality Control Technician

Role and Objectives: The Quality Control Technician, under the direction of Director, Business Intelligence, is responsible for ensuring superior product quality and value optimization across operations while remaining in compliance with applicable company standards and programs. Responsibilities: Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures. Ensure that Company quality standards are effectively implemented. Provide leadership in safety by adhering to all safe work procedures (SWP) and practices. Ensure you are signed off annually. Help identify areas where we may be exposed to safety hazards and assist in the development of new SWP’s. Ensure operational excellence in quality control, data management, inventory control and manufacturing. Conduct daily quality control audits across operations. Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented on a timely basis in cases of non-compliance. Observe systems and processes and provide recommendations for improvements. Identify and communicate key indicators of performance. Assess and ensure we are maximizing value back to the company by performing regular checks and provide recommendations on improvement opportunities. Other duties as requested or required. Requirements: Post secondary studies in forestry, wood science, or manufacturing is an asset. One (1) year of experience in quality control inspections, or equivalent. Broad business acumen. Working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/control activities Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written Receptive to change – can adapt to changing circumstances. Proactive and focused on continuous improvement. Working Conditions: Overtime as required.
