Description:
This role administers multiple country marks or approval projects (outside of North America) on behalf of CSA customers.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and delegates between CSA Operations staff, International partners/Agencies, foreign regulators and customers as required to accomplish project objectives. Responds to customer inquiries on foreign certification and related technical and regulatory requirements.
- Responds to customer inquiries for information on foreign certification and approvals concerning products to be exported to a foreign country. These inquiries can be related to technical as well as regulatory requirements.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates designated GMA projects. Ensures that the goals of each project meet customer needs and are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, funding parameters and regulatory requirements. Activities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Identification of project scope and estimated cost, lead time and applicable foreign government procedure;
- Identify applicable safety standards for foreign approval;
- Identify regulatory codes and laws for foreign approval;
- Provide engineering inputs to testing facilities for product testing (i.e. specify tests to be performed);
- Arrange alternative testing services with International Partners and other organizations to complete projects when it makes more sense to be done elsewhere;
- Customize engineering projects/reports to meet foreign requirements;
- Assign project tasks to certification engineers for review of non- CSA test reports. Assignment can also include additional testing of GMA client’s products;
- Review engineering reports for completeness;
- Ensure all applicable forms are completed properly;
- Ensure project cost and obligations are met.
- Coordinates with other departments, International Partners/Agencies and foreign regulators to deliver one-stop service to customers. Provides a point of contact for customers that are requiring certification in multiple geographic locations, especially those utilizing the CB and CE marking services.
- Keeps up-to-date on international certification requirements. Researches and gathers information and updates on foreign technical requirements, government regulations, administrative guidelines and working practices and forms for foreign approvals.
- Compiles and maintains a data base system containing such information. Informs and directs internal staff on national deviations and country specific Safety Standards and requirements associated with the preparation of engineering reports.
- Plans, organizes and conducts training sessions with customers, internal staff and International Partners/Agencies to ensure consistency of process and maintenance of technical competence.
- Develops training materials to encompass regulatory requirements, procedural requirements and conformity requirements for each country of interest.
- Arranges for subject matter experts to assist with technical training and/or conduct training sessions as required.
- Documents, reviews and updates GMA working processes and procedures so that all users of the information can provide consistent, cost-effective and timely services.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering and/or equivalent 5 years of experience in the compliance industry
- PMP designation is preferred.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred.
- Knowledge of CSA Group programs and services.
