Description:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Transportation Operations, the Project Manager, Transportation Operations is responsible for administering and managing all aspects of project management for transportation and municipal infrastructure operating & capital projects for the Transportation Operations business unit.
Education
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
- Completion of the Drainage Superintendent Course through University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus Business Development Centre or equivalent is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience and qualifications may be considered.
Knowledge
- 10 years of project management experience in areas of planning, and design of capital and operating transportation projects.
- Working knowledge of the Region’s road design guidelines, Minimum Maintenance Standards O. Reg. 239/02, Ontario Provincial Standards (OPS), MTO Geometric Design Standards, MTO Roadside Safety Manual, TAC Geometric Design Guidelines, Ontario Traffic Manual (Book 7 – Temporary Conditions), Niagara Peninsula Standard Contract Document (NPSCD), and all applicable legislation and regulations (Occupational Health & Safety Act, Highway Traffic Act, Municipal Act, etc.), and applicable contract law.
- Sound knowledge of Drainage Act and road maintenance operations is preferred.
- Computer literacy in MS Office software applications, including Microsoft Project.
- Certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (civil) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or equivalent or a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
