Project Manager

 

Description:

  • Assist Director, Infrastructure & Development in developing and prioritizing a multi-year capital plan responding to facility needs based on various inputs including but not limited to strategic and business plans, facility condition assessments (FCA), deferred maintenance needs, energy management and sustainability goals/mandates.
  • Responsible for short range planning includes: budget tracking/control; project scheduling, initial design concept, public information sessions; site plan approval applications, final drawings for tendering; tendering (contract, advertising, closing date); report preparation for Resource & Board Committee approval (contractor, budget); construction start date; completion date; project phase planning.
  • Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to plan, monitor and update project charters, roles and responsibilities matrix, schedules, budgets, status updates and change requests, maintaining cost control, monitoring labour material and equipment activities, and administrative duties on the project.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of project delivery standards and ensures adherence to standards during design, construction, contract close-out and warranty periods.
  • Plan project meetings, record meeting minutes, present updates, and document action items and other pertinent project deliverables/decisions.
  • Ensure that project site and organizational assets are secure and maintain a safe and respectful work environment at all times.
  • Monitor project change requests, identify change events, submit change notices, track changes and optional changes in project scope, and present to the Director when required.
  • Provide timely progress reports to the Director, Infrastructure & Development.
  • Communicate with stakeholders about scheduling, staffing and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate the development, deployment, ongoing support, and continuous improvement of key departmental and/or organizational procedures, practice standards.

  • Obtain and provide written documentation for all clarifications and instructions.
  • Conduct the Client Satisfaction Survey prior to project closeout.
  • Assist with the review and coordination of project-specific safety plan.
  • Maintain safety records and take responsibility for the development, implementation, and execution of the Project Specific Safety Plan (PSSP).
  • Monitor and measure HSE goals and expectations using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control records.
  • Ensure implementation of the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) on the project site by all project stakeholders.
  • Review the Field Surveillance Reports (FSR) and initiate NCRs based on analysis and severity
  • Perform all work at all times in compliance with all organizational policies and procedures and applicable government legislation (Occupational Health &Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, etc.) relevant to health and safety, security (including relational/therapeutic security) and potential risk hazards, and in particular, “duties of the worker” as defined in Section 28 of the OH&S Act.
