Description:
A Project Manager with our Product Development Department in Toronto is responsible for planning, executing, and launching IT and software development projects that support the business objectives of Stewart Title’s Canadian and international branches. Additional duties include contributing to solution design and managing project and production issues, detailed further in the Job Description section below. This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days per week expected in-person at 200 Bay Street in Toronto.
- Tackle complex problems with creative solutions, teamwork, and strong organization
- Manage multiple products under the guidance of the VP of Product Development
- Work with stakeholders to define projects and see them to successful completion
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure project success
- Develop and maintain project schedule, scope, and budget
- Regularly communicate ongoing project status and change via formal reporting
- Facilitate project status meetings
- Manage project risks and issues, escalating where necessary
- Anticipate and identify factors impeding project success as early as possible
- Create/modify trackers when required (e.g. decision logs)
- Conduct work breakdowns to achieve reliable schedules
- Contribute to estimation process and estimate gathering
- Independently and regularly monitor project performance against schedule & budget
- Understand the subject matter to better contribute to solutions
- Develop requirements-related deliverables if needed
- Deliver other documents pertaining to roll outs, training, etc. as needed
- Perform analyst duties as needed (e.g. creation of specs, user stories, etc.)
- Contribute to the evolution of project processes
- Other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong grasp of application design concepts
- Experience in software development-related project management (3-5 years), preferably in small-medium organizations/teams
- Insurance domain experience a plus
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle concepts
- PMP Certification an asset
- Understanding of the Agile methodology
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps or TFS a plus
- Strong understanding of Security and Privacy concepts or experience on related projects a plus
