Project Manager

 

Description:

In this position, you will be assigned to a project stream within a larger business and technology transformation program which aims to improve the internal experience of SickKids research community by integrating previously siloed business functions. Specifically, you will work closely with the Research Ethics Office to implement a refreshed Research Ethics Management solution and integrate the solution with a research operations platform. You will play a key role in ensuring project objectives are met through the development and execution of organizational change and communication activities that maximize end-user adoption and usage of this new solution.

To be successful, you will need to develop close working relationships within the Research Institute, a comprehensive understanding of the strategic drivers for the organization, as well as an understanding of the organization's capacity for change. You will also need to be creative, self-directed, innovative, and results oriented.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned projects to ensure successful and timely completion of desired outcomes, including initiation / inception, procurement (RFI, RFQ, RFP), delivery, and implementation phases
  • Ensure that all steps from requirement analysis through to product selection, implementation, testing and production are carried out in an optimum way to ensure successful and timely completion of the project
  • Work with a cross-functional team of analysts, developers, coordinators, and managers, as well as business representatives and other technical resources (corporate IT and vendors) to support and enable delivery
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of implementation activities, such as:
    • Project charters, scoping documents, delivery plans, risk and issue logs, budgets, and reports
    • Visualization of work through roadmaps and schedules
    • Organizational change management strategies and tactics
    • Delivery communications, including the creation and promotion of written and visual content for multiple internal audiences (project team, decision-making stakeholders, and end-users)
    • Training activities and materials
    • Transition to operations plans, solicitation of user feedback, and reporting on change and success metrics
  • Attend and lead a variety of meetings (stand-ups, working groups, stakeholder meetings, steering committees, workshops, and training sessions, etc.), by coordinating logistics, preparing content, facilitating, and appropriately documenting actions, decisions, and other key notes
  • Support colleagues within Research IT with operational projects, enhancements, and change requests relating to agreed scope of deliverables by ensuring IT activities are progressing as planned and meeting documented requirements
  • Provide cross-coverage and vacation coverage as required for similar roles within Research IT
