Program Manager

 

Description:

The Program Manager-Space is a key member of the Planning team within Facilities Management, Planning and Development, responsible for the review, co-ordination, management and response to individual and departmental requests for non-clinical and clinical space and space optimization requests. Reporting to the Manager - Space + Design, the Program Planner will have demonstrated experience in project planning, project management and coordination, and excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation and networking skills.

The Program Manager will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to validate programmatic requirements. The incumbent will have a preferred understanding of design (architecture or interior architecture) in the healthcare or healthcare related market sectors, knowledge of applicable Canadian healthcare design standards, and experience in scheduling and cost control, project management and coordination, excellent communication (both verbal and written) and presentation and networking skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Stakeholder Relationship:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with stakeholders, campus partners, and external partners, including, as required, consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to coordinate and complement the review, planning and implementation of solutions to space optimization and utilization requests
  • Collaborate with other managers and professional staff to resolve space optimization and utilization issues and challenges, and to deliver space optimization programs and services

Project Optimization Initiation:

  • Assess space optimization request background and objectives within established Master Planning and Redevelopment Plan objectives and validate project(s) scope.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and technical resources to review request scope statements and to clearly define user requirements.
  • Make recommendation on request action and implementation.
  • Define request deliverables, milestones and dependencies, and develop Work Breakdown Structures and schedules.
  • Liase with assigned project coordinator(s) to coordinate project schedule and deliverable inputs
