Here’s what You’ll Get to Do:

  • Liaise with a globally distributed and diverse set of stakeholders to support community building and cross-functional collaborations across partnering institutions.
  • Provide project management for multiple projects, track and report on deliverables and milestones, including realistic forecasts of expectations (e.g. timeline, budget, resources) in order to deliver on scheduled projects and grants in accordance with defined goals.
  • Serve as an intermediary between teams and navigate national and international organizational structures to harmoniously advance Precision Child Health, ensure alignment across projects and ensure that the interests of all partnering institutions are represented.
  • Play a key role in developing a national and international framework for paediatric data sharing by engaging key stakeholders across sites and surveying scientific, regulatory, legal, technical (data scientists/ analysts/ engineers, etc.), privacy, and security requirements to ensure its implementation.
  • Independently plan, facilitate, and keep a record of meetings with the executive, steering committee, nodes as well as other teams across IPCHiP and PCHP.
  • Serve as a representative of IPCHiP and PCHP in outreach, implementation, and knowledge translation activities by preparing communication materials and delivering presentations.
  • Work with global teams to support the progress of ongoing flagship projects and emerging initiatives, to develop tools for project-specific workflows, and find creative solutions to hurdles.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • At a minimum, completion of a Master’s degree program or recognized equivalent in a health- or science-related discipline (e.g. Genetic Counselling, Molecular Genetics.)
  • Progressive experience managing projects. Previous work experience with national or international complexity and/or project or business management training (e.g. PMP, MBA) are assets.
  • Experience with providing strategic direction or operational oversight of clinical research activities is desired (grant applications and reporting, research ethics board submissions and maintenance, research contracts (e.g. data sharing agreements.)
  • Knowledge of basic genetics concepts and familiarity with genomic technologies as well as ethical, legal, and social issues relating to medical genomics and genomic data sharing.
  • Familiarity with emerging therapeutic approaches (gene editing/replacement/ modulation, iPSC cell therapy, etc.) as well as the ethical, legal, and social issues relating to the development and delivery of precision therapies.
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) skills with the ability to create, facilitate, and deliver presentations, prepare documents/reports, synthesize and translate scientific or technical concepts to a diverse scope of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction and work autonomously, manage upward, and work collaboratively within diverse teams.
  • Effective organizational skills with the proven ability to work resourcefully and prioritize tasks to balance competing demands from multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with software programs such as Microsoft Office tools (including SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and video-conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom) is necessary. Experience with database management tools (e.g. RedCap) and version control tools, such as GitHub, is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate work with collaborators from different time zones.
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to assimilate complex and novel concepts to develop workflows, plan and carry out projects.
  • Familiarity with genomic database management, the FAIR data principles, issues pertaining to researcher identity management, data access and authorization, cloud computing, and/or data modelling is an asset.
