Procurement Specialist

 

Description:

Wolverine Contracting & Engineering, a leading industrial contractor, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the industrial sector, specifically in piping and fittings under the ASME codes. The candidate should possess expertise in reading Isometric drawings and bills of materials, as well as experience with mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities:

 

1. Procurement Management:

• Oversee and manage the material procurement process for piping, fittings and Pressure vessels in accordance with ASME / CSA codes and The Wolverine Quality Program

• Understand and Review Client standards and specifications for items like approved vendors, material grades and Countries of origins

• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

• Issue Purchase Orders and track deliveries to meet project timelines.

 

2. Technical Proficiency:

• Read and interpret Isometric drawings and bills of materials accurately.

• Understand and interpret mechanical drawings related to piping systems.

 

3. Vendor and Subcontractor Relations:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.

• Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process.

 

4. Quality Assurance:

• Ensure that all procured materials meet quality standards and comply with relevant industry codes and regulations.

 

5. Cost Management:

• Work closely with the project management team to control costs and maintain budgetary guidelines.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

 

Requirements:

1. Experience:

• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist in an industrial setting.

• Strong background in working with piping, fittings and Pressure Vessels under the ASME code

• Experience in reading Isometric drawings and bills of materials.

• Familiarity with interpreting mechanical drawings.

 

2. Skills:

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

• Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
