Privacy Analyst

Description:

PBC Solutions is seeking a Privacy Analyst to support the privacy compliance and protection program of the organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with privacy legislation, handling privacy breaches, and processing access to information requests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and support privacy impact assessments.

• Investigate and respond to privacy breaches and complaints.

• Process access to information requests as per the Personal Information Protection Act.

• Provide advice and training on privacy-related compliance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to create compliance tools.

• Attend cross-organizational and cross-Ministry committees.

• Support responses to regulatory bodies such as BC’s Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

• Assist in proactive and routine disclosure processes.

• Review proposals related to personal information disclosures.

• Ensure a positive client relationship.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in information management, archives, public policy, law, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of privacy legislation, including BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in access to information, policy and procedure development, or compliance investigations.

• Experience drafting policies and procedures.

• Proven ability to lead meetings with multiple stakeholders.

• Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Experience:

• Conducting and reviewing privacy impact assessments.

• Responding to and investigating privacy breaches.

• Delivering privacy and access to information training.

• Drafting privacy-related procedures and guides.

• Experience in the public sector.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid work model (combination of in-office and virtual work).

• Must be based in British Columbia and able to attend offices in Saanichton or Burnaby as required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $5,150 - $7,733 per month (based on experience).
