Description:
As an Information Check Specialist, you will:
- Coordinate and monitor all information requests and Police Information Checks to ensure that work loads are managed according to legislative timeframes, information sensitivity and urgency
- Ensure disclosure of information for the Police Information Check program is compliant with all federal and provincial legislative requirements, provincial disclosure guidelines developed by the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police, and follows existing provincial and federal policies
- Conduct risk assessment on all non-conviction police relevant information and mental health related information under review for disclosure. This ensures disclosure of such information is strictly associated to public safety
- Complete indices checks referencing Vulnerable Sector or Police Records Search
- Remain informed of any changes in criminal law, privacy legislation, or political movements that directly impact the effectiveness of Police Information Check
