Description:
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of project management with applicability to the R&D environment as well as experience working within multi-disciplinary teams. They will exhibit a high level of interpersonal savvy, an ability to manage ambiguity, demonstrate self-awareness, an ability to manage conflict as well as build networks of others to support and supplement centre activities. Knowledge of the local business area, team-building skills, and leadership capabilities will be critical to allowing the manager to enable the centre to meet its business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Break down barriers to the success of the technical and service delivery team so that they may focus on the job of better serving clients.
- Directly responsible for coordinating and assisting centre staff and internal NAIT service providers with day-to-day management of the Centre with the following goals: project delivery (with centre technical staff), project financial management (with Project Support Office), strategic human-asset management & decision-making, funder-outcome reporting.
- Build strong, result-oriented teams and support direct reports in solution delivery, professional growth and development
- Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently
- Know the most efficient and effective processes to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement
- Lead inter centre and departmental coordination
- Lead inter centre process alignment for CSSI
- Assist with the development of new business lines for the centre
- Lead the centre Industry Advisory Board including board materials development and reporting
- Act as the NSERC TAC manager and support the TAC Advisory Board

Qualifications:
- Minimum: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in a related technical field
- Recommended: Significant experience (10+), and/or formal post-secondary training in business/management, or project management
