As a supervising OT at Mud Club, you'll be at the forefront of shaping a unique therapy experience where gaming meets clinical intervention. You’ll provide clinical oversight to a team of OTAs, guiding them through gaming-based therapy sessions using platforms like Minecraft and Meta Quest. Your role will be integral in ensuring therapy goals are met, progress is tracked, and both families and team members are supported. This is a unique chance to blend therapy with play, while making a real difference in the lives of kids and teens!

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a Team of OTAs: Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and direct observation of therapy sessions to ensure OT strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Family Communication: Keep families informed by providing updates on their child’s progress, therapeutic goals, and strategies for continued growth.
  • Progress Report Writing: Draft and review progress reports that highlight each member’s achievements, challenges, and ongoing therapy goals.
  • Track Goal Progression: Monitor client progress toward therapy goals, and provide feedback and support in adapting interventions as needed.
  • Billing and Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, including billing and schedule management, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Gaming Influence: Infuse gaming into therapy sessions, using platforms like Minecraft and VR to meet therapy goals and keep kids engaged and motivated.

 

Qualifications:

  • Canadian Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in child development, autism, neurodiversity, and therapeutic strategies.
  • Experience Supervising OTAs: Previous supervisory experience is a plus, but we are also open to those looking to grow in this area.
  • Passion for Gaming: A deep love for gaming, particularly Minecraft and Meta Quest, and an eagerness to use gaming as a tool for therapeutic purposes.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to foster positive relationships with families, communicate effectively with team members, and support members in the online space.
  • Experience with Online Therapy Settings: Familiarity with virtual therapy platforms and digital communication tools, such as Teams, is essential.
