Description:
As the National Account Manager for our Master Lock brand, you will be responsible for managing an assigned list of national retail accounts, owning all aspects of the customer relationship by creating strong partnerships, collaborating, and being proactive while delivering strong results for the Master Lock business.
In this individual contributor role, you will be growing and nurturing sales in three ways: grow and protect existing business on both Security and Safe categories, partner with marketing and eCommerce resources to grow brick and mortar and .com, and target product line expansion and optimization opportunities within our retail partners.
The ideal candidate will be bilingual in French Canadian and English, and have 5+ years of experience working with large, retail, or big box national accounts with a strong record of growing sales and increasing market share. You will demonstrate a history of being strategic, having strong financial acumen, negotiation skills in pricing, and selling, and someone who is able to connect and influence our customers and stakeholders.
This role is a hybrid based out of the Greater Toronto, Ontario area and we are targeting a base salary of $85-120K base with bonus opportunities and a car allowance.
What you will be doing:
- Manages all aspects of an assigned portfolio of national accounts to meet or exceed retail sales plan revenue and margin targets, including the identification of incremental growth opportunities.
- Develops and implements strategic sales plans for their assigned national accounts to accommodate and execute corporate goals and growth initiatives.
- Coordinates and supports all retail forecasting activities (financial and product demand) on assigned national accounts.
- Collaborates with internal resources to ensure maximum customer performance (marketing, finance, logistics, customer service, etc.,)
- Initiates and leads margin improvement activities within their assigned national accounts through strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and departments.
- Develops and manages customer programs and contractual terms to drive sales growth within their assigned national accounts.
- Leads retail continuous improvement and portfolio streamlining across assigned national accounts as requested.
- Supports the administration of retail travel expenses, trade shows, Co-Op advertising, and all other advertising and marketing spend associated with assigned national accounts in alignment with the retail expense plan.
- Performs and executes a regular cadence of strategic business reviews, account/promotion performance reviews, and line reviews for assigned national accounts, owning all aspects of the customer relationship.
- Regularly monitors and reports on operating conditions and specific problems, opportunities, and trends. Maintain in-depth awareness of market and competitive trends and conditions, retail customer attitudes and characteristics, business trends, and general economic conditions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience selling to National Accounts
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel within Canada and the United States approximately 15%.
- Advanced knowledge of POS metrics and ability to use data to grow sales within assigned accounts base.
- Proven track record of identifying, qualifying and successfully opening new accounts.
- Ownership mindset regarding all aspect of customer accounts and proactively manages daily priorities.
