Museum Programming Student

 

Description:

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in Museum Studies, Performance Arts or a related field and will be returning to school in the Fall. The student will act as an interpretive guide for the exhibits at one or more of the five County Museums, both in person and virtually. Alongside curatorial staff, this student will effectively harness each site’s potential for indoor/outdoor programming to ensure the County’s heritage is made accessible through dynamic live and virtual programs. This position will also manage bookings and registrations, accept payments, support participants, and assist with the set-up and take-down of program materials.

General qualifications include:

  • Enrolment in a recognized post-secondary program and returning to school in the Fall.
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, judgement, and decision-making skills.
  • Retail and customer service experience.
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office applications, as well as video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet and Facebook Live.
  • Proof of a valid ‘G2’ or ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence.
  • Proof of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening Check.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
