Mortgage Analyst, Residential Underwriting

Description:

Check with law society for entitlement of solicitor. • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with mortgage brokers to build loyalty to the Company • Maintains positive relationships with external partners such as mortgage insurers, appraisers, title insurance companies, and solicitors • Adjudicates mortgage applications within established authority limits while ensuring adherence to policies and guidelines • Interacts with Mortgage Insurers where applicable to complete credit lending decisions • Ensures due diligence has been completed prior to signing off on any mortgage conditions or documents, where applicable • Prepares and issues mortgage commitments with appropriate conditions within established service level agreements/turnaround times • Priorities applications and workflow to ensure consistent and sound risk assessments are maintained while managing high volumes and a continued focus on service excellence • Stays current with latest industry knowledge, competition, and market trends The Requirements Needed: • Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience required • Minimum 2 years previous mortgage underwriting experience required • Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment required • Ability to manage and resolve conflict • Strong analytical skills • Attention to detail • Organizational and time management skills • Positive team player with desire and ability to mentor others • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills • Bilingualism (French, English) required - interactions with English-speaking customers or partners Why join First National? • Supportive teamwork focused environment • Collaborative entrepreneurial spirit • Opportunities to give back to the communities and work through events focused on a variety of charities • Ongoing social events throughout the year • Extensive training programs to set our employees up for success First National is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender identity, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation or any other category protected by law.
