Western Health, situated on the scenic west coast of Newfoundland Labrador, is seeking the services of a fee for service Medical Internist with an interest in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The position is located at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Responsibilities include participation in the General Medicine and ICU on call schedules and providing inpatient and office based general medicine consultation service. The successful candidate will be required to do EST and manage Intensive Care Unit patients including ventilator care.

The Medical Consultants Group is a dynamic group of eight Internal Medicine Specialists and we are seeking to expand the Group to at least ten. The Group provides a high volume, clinical service with provision of General Internal Medicine and Sub-Specialty services to a population of approximately 78,000. We offer:

WMRH is a 171-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland and provides services to a population base of approximately 78,000 people. We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Faculty of Medicine and we encourage and support academic interests.

Qualifications Required: Eligible for licensure as a Medical Internist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified or eligible and meets the credentialing requirements of Western Health's Discipline of Medicine. Training in EST required and other forms of non-invasive imaging (sesta-mibi, etc.) an asset.

Remuneration: Fee for Service basis as per the Medical Care Plan (MCP) fee schedule. An annual Retention Bonus is offered in accordance with the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
