Mechanical Estimator

Description:

Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator in the HVAC industry in Concord, Ontario.

The Project Estimator reporting to the Construction Department Manager, is responsible to identify and manage tender opportunities to successfully secure bids and proposals for Commercial/Industrial & High-rise Residential jobs in the Ontario Region. This role will oversee pricing and estimating for bid & spec projects, design build projects and budgets.

A Typical Day
 

• Computes costs by analyzing labour, materials, and time requirements
• Manages the tender closings
• Search for new tendering opportunities
• Identifies labour, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
• Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data on CRM
• Conducts take-offs
• Investigates and quotes special projects
• Fosters and maintains positive relations and communications with clients, co-workers, and subcontractors
   

Successful Candidates Will Have
 

• Mechanical / HVAC knowledge of systems
• Able to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
• Be proficient with computers including the following software: MS Office suite and quantity takeoff software
• Have excellent knowledge of the local construction market, including competitors, subcontractors, and consultants
• Have experience in estimating HVAC & Mechanical Projects for commercial/high-rise residential and retrofit construction.
• Have excellent communication, people management and problem-solving skills
