Responsibilities

As a Materials Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of material management, ensuring seamless demand planning, master scheduling, and supply chain coordination. You’ll lead a team focused on continuous improvement and ensuring the smooth flow of materials to meet production targets. A typical day in your role would involve:
 

  • Managing the daily operations within the Material Management Department, ensuring material flow is efficient and accurate.
  • Leading, developing, and motivating a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Aligning demand planning, master scheduling, and supply chain operations with production goals.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to address material shortages, delays, and inefficiencies.
  • Applying Lean principles to optimize material handling processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with IATF standards and managing audit processes.
  • Proposing and implementing improvements to drive operational excellence.
  • Ensuring clear, effective communication with all stakeholders to meet material needs.
  • Taking a hands-on, flexible approach to solving complex challenges and driving results.
     

Qualifications

  • Proven Leadership: Experience successfully leading teams and managing materials operations in a high-pressure environment—preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sector.
  • Supply Chain Expertise: Deep knowledge of demand planning, master scheduling, and supply chain operations, coupled with advanced Excel skills to drive operational improvements.
  • Lean Mindset: Familiarity with Lean principles and a passion for optimizing processes, reducing waste, and driving efficiency.
  • Effective Communicator: Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally, across all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-On Problem Solver: A proactive approach to problem-solving with creative, actionable solutions.
  • Audit Experience: Comfort with IATF audits and working closely with auditors to maintain compliance.
