Description:

The Marketing & Communications Specialist will ensure that the great work of SCNL is highlighted and measured and that partners are engaged. They will provide media, corporate and government outreach, and lead the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies to increase recognition of the organization, our mission, programs and events. We are looking for someone to join our team to lead the creation of eye-catching visuals, to coordinate engaging social posts and web communications, and to implement consistent graphic elements.

This position requires working within tight timelines and managing multiple projects at once. The successful candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal skills, be highly organized and detailed-oriented and have strong design skills. A positive and professional attitude, a creative mindset, and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team is crucial. Some additional work outside the regular workday and provincial / national travel may be expected for special events. This position works closely with the SCNL staff to ensure program synchronicity and reports to the Executive Director.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage marketing & communications campaigns from conception to completion;
  • Update and manage website, review performance analytics for website and social platforms;
  • Collaborate with staff for social media content creation (video content and story assignments);
  • Design and create digital ads and assets, print materials, web graphics, banners and marketing materials for programs, events, and initiatives;
  • Lead role in gathering information and data from program managers / coordinators to create partner, activity and board reports including the Annual Report;
  • Provide communications support for VIP guest speakers and board members attending our events and/or in written communications;
  • Coordinate Corporate Partnership identification and activation;
  • Coordinate media relations (TV, radio, online, and print), virtual and in-person event planning and facilitation;
  • Assist with virtual and in-person event planning and facilitation.
