- A creative storyteller
- Pro-active, with excellent time management skills
- Positive attitude and works well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to produce results with minimal supervision
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Flexible, able to adapt to shifting priorities and support a variety of projects
- Personable and confident contacting members by phone, email, and in person
SKILLS
- Experience working across all major social media platforms
- Experience updating and managing WordPress based websites
- Experience with content creation and photography using DSLR cameras
- Comfortable with graphic design applications
- Superior oral and written communication abilities
- Strong customer service skills and experience working directly with the public
- Bilingualism is considered an asset
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting content creation for social media and website
- Tracking upcoming events and promoting them through all channels
- Supporting special projects and initiatives as they arise
- Other duties as assigned
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this position, as according to requirements set out by the Canada Summer Jobs program, the candidate must be:
- A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Act
- Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
- Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Is currently enrolled in a Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or Communications program at a Canadian post-secondary institution
- Is able to fulfill their position in-office, 5 days a week.
