Description:

The Marketing Department in Canada is responsible for localization and commercialization of the global marketing priorities to suit the specific needs of Canadian consumers and retailers. Our Marketing team is responsible for adapting strategic and commercially viable marketing programs from globally developed strategies, and contributing to retail executions for all of the brands in the Mattel portfolio (i.e. Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price). The Marketing team is the engine for Mattel Canada, acting as business managers, with responsibility for delivering business results through pricing, line selection, marketing communications, media investments and close partnership with all stakeholders in the business. In this team, you can expect to have a dynamic, fast paced, and nimble role where you have true accountability and team collaboration.


The Opportunity:

As a Marketing Analyst, you will be exposed to core business processes and systems to gain experience within commercial marketing at Mattel. This role is a great opportunity to work on a brand team where you’ll play a critical role in driving profitable growth for some of the world’s most iconic brands.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Business Reporting & Analysis
    • Monitor key trends, brands, and competitors’ performance through regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) data collection and analysis. Retailer store visits as required.
    • Pre and post analysis of key item performance, marketing spend and media effectiveness, pricing strategies and market share.
    • Assist marketing team in creating ad hoc reports and doing deep dive analysis for brands to create insights that inform future marketing strategies and plans.
  • Brand Management
    • Work in collaboration with the Associate Marketing Manager to manage the product portfolio, developing business strategies, objectives and insights and managing the P&L.
    • Manage adaptation of GBT creative to meet local needs; liaise with local advertising, promotional and PR agencies to traffic assets and ensure timely execution of all marketing campaigns.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive and execute key business initiatives.
  • Administrative Support
    • Create and disseminate marketing bulletins to update cross-functional teams on new product news, marketing activity, program performance and results.
    • Manage all product line changes (new adds/drops, dash codes, etc) and ad-hoc information requests.
    • Maintain internal collateral (presentations, logos, brand guides, etc) in clearly organized locations.
    • Back up for Marketing Associate as required.
