Position Overview:
As a Manager, Talent Acquisition, you will lead the Talent Acquisition (TA) team and develop progressive recruitment strategies to ensure LifeLabs attracts, engages, and hires top talent. This strategic leadership role focuses on enhancing the candidate journey, driving innovative sourcing solutions, and aligning talent attraction efforts with LifeLabs’ overarching People Strategy and business goals.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Services and Optimization, you will play a critical role in ensuring LifeLabs builds a diverse talent pipeline, strengthens its employer brand, and optimizes recruitment processes through technology and data-driven approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Talent Acquisition Strategy & Leadership:

  • Lead and manage LifeLabs’ Talent Acquisition team, ensuring high-quality and proactive sourcing, screening, and selection processes.
  • Design and execute innovative recruitment strategies aligned with LifeLabs’ business goals, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and business leaders to forecast hiring needs and talent requirements.
  • Coach and train hiring managers on recruitment best practices, interview techniques, and market insights.
  • Develop a comprehensive recruitment branding strategy to enhance LifeLabs’ presence in competitive talent markets.

🔹 Candidate Experience & Process Enhancement:

  • Drive the creation of a seamless, inclusive, and engaging candidate journey — from sourcing to onboarding.
  • Leverage progressive technologies and platforms (such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and LifeLabs’ Careers website) to amplify recruitment reach.
  • Partner with internal teams (Communications, Brand, and Marketing) to ensure all recruitment materials align with LifeLabs’ employer brand.
  • Oversee the development of external recruitment campaigns (e.g., job fairs, university partnerships).

🔹 Data-Driven Insights & Performance Management:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on recruitment effectiveness, candidate experience, and time-to-fill metrics.
  • Use data and analytics to identify gaps, optimize processes, and enhance decision-making.
  • Manage and optimize the talent acquisition budget, ensuring all strategies deliver maximum return on investment.

🔹 Innovation & Technology Adoption:

  • Stay at the forefront of emerging talent acquisition technologies and recommend innovative tools to enhance recruitment effectiveness.
  • Continuously improve processes to ensure scalability, consistency, and efficiency across all recruitment activities.

Qualifications:
✅ 5-7 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, including full-cycle recruitment in a high-volume, matrixed environment
✅ Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring talent acquisition teams
✅ Strong ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and HR teams to align recruitment strategies with business goals
✅ Experience developing recruitment strategies across diverse business functions
✅ Data-savvy — able to analyze recruitment data to drive insights and make informed decisions
✅ Strong understanding of recruitment marketing, employer branding, and DEI practices
✅ Knowledge of best practices in recruitment technology and applicant tracking systems (ATS)
✅ Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
✅ Familiarity with Canada’s healthcare sector is an asset
