Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager Projects, the Manager, Strategy & Business Development is responsible for developing and managing our business strategy for OPG to drive business growth and identify new opportunities to expand our operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and implementing successful business strategies in the energy sector and cultivating long-term relationships with key stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and implement business strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new areas of growth and opportunity for our energy and/or nuclear services.
- Perform market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape and market opportunities.
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, clients, government agencies and vendors.
- Lead the business development team in pursuing new business opportunities and developing proposals.
- Analyze and manage financial performance, budgeting and forecasting.
- Provide leadership on projects and initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION
- Engineering, Economics or Business Administration degree would be considered an asset
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the energy or nuclear sector.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal energy policies.
- Experience working collaboratively with diverse levels of government.
- Strong expertise in strategic planning of energy or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent understanding of government and stakeholder relations.
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as IESO, CNSC, and IAAC.
- Experience with planning for new nuclear projects including small modular reactors and nuclear refurbishments will be an asset.
- Knowledgeable of clean energy initiatives in Ontario such as hydrogen, cogeneration, pumped storage, and similar technologies.
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities and possesses well-developed analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction, including providing advice and influencing personnel to others to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work activities to satisfy changing requirements;
- Experience in driving strategic initiatives and implementing change.
