Description:
Reporting to the Director, Terminal Operations, you will act as the main point of contact for airlines and above-wing ground handling issues at YVR in support of both our Main and South Terminal operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the main contact for airline and above the wing ground handlers for the main and south terminals
- Participating in YVR internal cross functional department projects as the subject matter expert for airline business sector needs, including the management of special projects as needed
- Managing complex, and often competing, relationships and demands amongst air carriers and related partners and suppliers
- Leading a team of professionals which includes: hiring; coaching; training; monitoring work efforts and performance; supporting developmental activities; conducting formal evaluations and applying appropriate discipline
Key qualifications include:
- At least ten years’ operational experience with an airline or ground handler, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e., Arts, Sciences or Business); or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Proven relationship skills including the ability to organize and facilitate effective communication between multiple stakeholders
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement business plans, as well as manage the day-to-day tactical oversight of airline operational programs
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to work with ambiguity
- Demonstrated people leadership skills
