Description:

The OnCorr program has the objective of building an enhanced commuter rail network to meet the corporate mandate and business objectives while adhering to Metrolinx’s highest standards for safety, efficiency, and legal/regulatory/policy compliance, while delivering excellent customer experience. The Senior Manager of Project Delivery will be responsible for specific elements of infrastructure required to support the capital build of the OnCorr program.

What will I be doing?
 

  • Supports project strategies while providing overall administrative and technical leadership and oversight to the Specialized Delivery Track team, ensuring design activities are developed and delivered to project targets.
  • Assist’s project oversite by planning, setting objectives and controls activities for the Specialized Delivery Track portfolio in conjunction with the delivery and means and methods construction teams.
  • Leads with the design management activities for the Specialized Delivery Track portfolio by reviewing all plans, schedules and budget documents to ensure optimal coordination of projects throughout the network; reviews consultant proposals and develops recommendations for proposed projects consistent with strategic plan and business objectives
  • Implements standards and manages critical paths/milestones, by monitoring mechanisms for projects (e.g. budget, schedule, scope, quality); regularly reports to Director on project status
  • Promotes a safe and healthy work environment; ensures project teams, contractors and trades comply with health, safety and environmental standards that meet or exceed legislated requirements

     

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
 

  • Completion of a degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Demonstrated years of progressive experience providing comprehensive engineering and project management services associated with the planning, design, and construction of transit track, station infrastructure, and related works. Previous experience includes construction proposals.
  • Project management principles and practices, including budget and schedule controls, to lead and direct cross functional teams and consultants engaged in simultaneous projects (e.g. development, project progress, related staff and project resources) and monitor project activities for adherence to timelines, budgets, and project performance objectives
  • Theories, principles and practices of civil and architectural design and construction; skill and proficiency in broad phases of engineering application
