Description:
The Senior Manager, Trade Relations will be reporting directly to the Head Commercial Oncology and will also be working closely with the Head Commercial Dermatology and will oversee and develop relationships between Incyte Biosciences Canada and its partners, distributors and clients. This role involves negotiating contracts, managing trade agreements and staying updated on trade regulations and market trends to optimize business opportunities. This person will also tailor the distribution network for each product specific needs which varies from specialty distributors, specialty pharmacies (SPs), and direct dispensing pharmacies for a new product in Dermatology (ruxolitinib cream) and PEMAZYRE (Oncology/pill) and hospital wholesalers and direct accounts for MINJUVI (Oncology/Biological) and future products.
Essential Functions Of The Job (Key Responsibilities)
- Develop and implement the trade and distribution strategy for Incyte Canada products, with a focus on the launch expansion and pharmacies for the ruxolitinib topical and new public listings for PEMAZYRE and MINJUVI
- Manage trade and distribution network, including contracting, program and service offering development, customer relationships, and performance
- Determine service requirements (e.g., turnaround time, compliance programs, data), metrics, and ensure uniform implementation across channels
- Develop contracting strategy and service offerings for national Pharmacy chains (Shoppers/ K&F, etc…) to educate local pharmacists on ruxolitinib cream and future products in Oncology and Immunology that may be distributed from community-based pharmacist
- Develop contracting strategy and service offering for Hospital distribution if/when relevant
- Monitor, measure, evaluate contract performance and network efficiency/effectiveness, and communicate performance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Brand Teams across Product Strategy, Patient Support Program, Market Access and Reimbursement teams to develop resources for SPs and selected trade channels
- Work closely with National Sales Managers and Field Force
- Monitor and assess trends in the distribution landscape and competitive environment
- Perform benchmarking to ensure best-in class distribution strategy and performance to support business growth
- Develop and deliver internal and external business review presentations
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Sales Operations, and Finance to lead contracts and fulfillment of the sales process
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency):
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Extensive knowledge and proven experience with Specialty drug or primary care products required
- Extensive Knowledge and experience managing specialty distributors, specialty pharmacies and direct dispensing pharmacies (e.g., hospital, clinic) and experience with full-line wholesale products with retail pharmacy dispensing
- Proven experience developing, executing, and monitoring performance of agreements/contracts
- Experience in product launches and Immunology and/or Oncology would be an asset including but not limited to oral medications as well as biologics and hospital medications
- Proven effective at working in a collaborative environment with limited support
- Bilingual French and English required to communicate with the team
