La rue des Femmes is a Montreal-based non-profit organization that provides housing and care for over 1,500 homeless women each year through its unique trauma-informed approach. In its 30th anniversary year, the organization is expanding its impact with innovative projects aimed at increasing services for women experiencing homelessness.

The La rue des Femmes Foundation raises private funds to support the organization's activities. As part of the Foundation, you will make a tangible impact on the lives of women in crisis.

Under the guidance of the Foundation Director, the Major and Planned Giving Development Officer will focus on growing revenue from major and planned donations. You will develop and implement donor engagement strategies, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, and help expand the organization’s financial support.

Key Responsibilities:

Major Donations

✅ Assist in developing strategies to increase major donations.
✅ Identify and qualify potential major donors, including private foundations and individuals.
✅ Write personalized and engaging solicitation proposals to secure and renew major gifts.
✅ Maintain strong donor relationships through recognition and stewardship initiatives.
✅ Prepare impact reports and identify opportunities to enhance donor commitments.

Planned Giving

✅ Analyze and optimize the current planned giving program.
✅ Develop an action plan to grow and sustain planned donations.
✅ Identify current and potential donors interested in legacy giving.
✅ Establish a recognition and retention strategy for planned giving donors.
✅ Act as an ambassador for the organization when working with donors, financial planners, notaries, accountants, and other professionals.
✅ Ensure accurate tracking and administration of planned giving commitments, maintaining compliance with legal and organizational policies.

Additional Responsibilities

✅ Support the development and organization of donor appreciation and engagement events.
✅ Stay informed about best practices and trends in philanthropy to improve fundraising strategies.
✅ Create tailored solicitation materials that align with donor interests.
✅ Maintain a strong understanding of La rue des Femmes’ mission, leadership, and projects to effectively engage donors.

Required Qualifications:

✔️ University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in philanthropy.
✔️ Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising and donor relations.
✔️ Experience in planned giving program management (training in planned giving is an asset).
✔️ Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
✔️ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively.
✔️ Attention to detail and high-quality standards.
✔️ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
✔️ Deep understanding of the philanthropic community.
✔️ Fluency in French (written and spoken), with strong English proficiency.
✔️ Proficiency in CRM databases and Office 365 (CRM experience is a strong asset).

Position Details:
