We are looking for someone local to Brantford who is excited to work with a brand-new facility and state-of-the-art equipment serving a fast-growing, stable industry.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the facility, including electrical, heating, and cooling systems
- Supervise daily operations of the Maintenance department
- Analyze staffing needs for efficiency
- Assist with hiring, integrating new hires, and coordinating maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoot and install electrical systems/machinery as needed
- Repair and maintain existing equipment as needed
- Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing to meet specifications and customer requirements
- Perform calculations to establish manufacturing and installation standards
- Assist with discussions on engineering projects with engineers and customers
- Inspect installations and operations to ensure they meet design and safety standards
- Oversee project production to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and budget compliance
- Help compile data and write reports on engineering studies and projects
- Comply with regulatory and employment requirements
- Ensure safety is implemented in all automation changes
- Address customer issues with a "customer is right" attitude
- Promote a company culture of quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional networks
- Maintain 5S practices (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
- Follow directions, multitask effectively, and manage time efficiently
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- 442A, 443A, or 309A certification
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing role or relevant internal training/testing
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 certification systems preferred but not required
- Experience with laser welding technology preferred but not required
- Strong team building and leadership skills with supervisory experience required
- Strong morals and ethics and attention to detail
- Computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
- Able to take direction, multitask, and manage time efficiently
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
