The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is a leading paediatric healthcare and research institute dedicated to improving children's health worldwide. The position, under Dr. Michal Koziarski's supervision, is within the Molecular Medicine program at SickKids and the Vector Institute.
This role focuses on developing machine learning-based generative models for small molecule design, specifically in longevity and anti-aging intervention discovery. Responsibilities include integrating ML with chemistry, optimizing chemical synthesis costs, and working closely with biologists and chemists at SickKids, the University of Toronto, and the Acceleration Consortium.
Responsibilities:
Develop generative models for small molecule drug discovery
Work on longevity-related research, including senolytics discovery
Enhance ML applications in chemistry with a focus on cost and speed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams spanning ML, chemistry, and biology
Requirements:
PhD in a machine learning-related field
Strong publication record in ML, computational chemistry, or computational biology
Proficiency in Python with demonstrated projects (preferably open-source)
Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and JAX
Familiarity with reinforcement learning and generative models
