Description:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Learning Technology Services, the LTS Technician provides exceptional customer service to end users of the Board by performing remote trouble shooting support for all locations. They will plan, install, configure and maintain the LAN for the Board as well as technology equipment including laptops, desktops, projectors, audio visual devices, PA and phone systems, projectors and cameras. The incumbent will be a self-starter that takes initiative to improve the service provided by the LTS department. The LTS Technician is also responsible for providing remote and onsite technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. They respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems and determine and implement solutions.
Qualifications:
•Two-year post-secondary Computer Networking or Technical Support related diploma and/or equivalent work related experience;
•Customer Service Certification or equivalent training;
•Current Windows Desktop Certification;
•3-4 years’ of related experience in an IT environment;
•Relevant vendor training for authorized service (certification);
•Previous experience with network hardware and software;
•Proven ability to acquire and implement new technologies;
•Excellent customer service skills;
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
•Superior conflict resolution, trouble shooting and time management skills;
•Ability to think and react quickly;
•Proven ability to produce clean and concise documentation;
•Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle in order to travel and provide service throughout the district
