You are driven by a desire to make a difference leveraging your leadership and technical expertise as the Lead AWS Security Engineer within the cyber security team. You will be responsible for implementing security controls in a comprehensive cyber security program and providing recommendations for solutions to complex security systems issues. As a cyber security expert, you will be the primary advisor to other staff members, including management and external stakeholders, on a wide range of cyber security-related components, guiding and employing professional concepts to ensure operational success while mitigating cyber security threats or vulnerabilities.

To meet corporate security objectives, the lead cyber security engineer will collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME), product managers, architects, dev-ops, cloud-ops, and developers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge security solutions while providing teams with your deep technical experience in cyber security practices and standards while teaching, advocating compliance, and assisting teams, ensuring that IT executives are correctly informed of advances, gaps, and threats.

You have:

• Completion of a college diploma or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive development experience in Cyber Security
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a formal team lead capacity demonstrating effective leadership skills
• Certification, or working towards certification in CISSP, CRISC, PMI-ACP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Security - Specialty
• Hands on experience with application security (Static application security testing (SAST), Dynamic application security testing (DAST), Interactive application security testing (IAST)), and cloud security (Security HUB, AWS Well-Architected Framework, WAF, IAM gateways), cloud security best practices and security posture management
• Expert in security operations, and security incident management
• Understanding of industry security practices and compliancy including ISO 27001/ISO 27002 and ISO 27017
• Demonstrated experience with open-source operating systems, security tools and cloud environments through to production and maintenance
