Geotab is growing our DevOps Engineering team and seeking a passionate Kubernetes Architect interested in the development of distributed cloud infrastructure. What you'll do:


As a Kubernetes Architect you will be responsible for designing the most secure, reliable, scalable and highly available cloud application environments for Geotab. You will need to work closely with the rest of the team to help develop our core DevOps environments, and to ensure our distributed platforms maintain Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability

How you'll make an impact:

    • Act as a subject matter expert on Kubernetes, containers, and microservice architecture within the DevOps team.
    • Design and configure workloads on Kubernetes clusters using declarative tools such as Terraform and ArgoCD.
    • Ensure that adequate troubleshooting tools, logging, and monitoring are implemented across all Kuberentes clusters within the organization.
    • Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing bugs and performance issues across production Kubernetes clusters as required.
    • Manage company-wide VictoriaMetrics/Prometheus stack in GKE, including application updates, security patches, disaster recovery, uptime monitoring, etc.
    • Build best practices around Kubernetes and microservice development, and help teams within Geotab understand and implement these practices through documentation, workshops, etc.
    • Ensure that security best practices and hardening is consistently implemented across all Kubernetes clusters within the organization.

What you'll bring to this role:

    • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
    • Professional certification in AWS Solutions Architect or GCP Professional Cloud Architect certifications highly valued.
    • 5+ years of experience architecting systems in GCP or AWS environments
    • Subject Matter Expert in setting up Kubernetes and Helm
    • Strong experience with Shell/Python Scripting
    • Strong expertise with Terraform and other Hashicorp tooling
    • Experience configuring Prometheus
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills
    • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
