The Role:
Based out of Surrey Office, the Junior Water Resources Technologist will support the Infrastructure Planning Group.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform urban water, sanitary and drainage system modelling, including data management, model setup and calibration, and system assessment.
- Support the development of Infrastructure servicing plans for subdivisions, neighborhood and city-wide areas.
- Perform hydrological and hydraulic modelling and support the development of Water and Sewer Master Plans and Integrated Stormwater Management Plans
- Develop rainwater source control LID concepts and assist in LID designs.
- Provide technical analysis in support Civil engineering design associated with municipal water, sanitary sewer, drainage conveyance works and hydraulic structures.
- Prepare construction cost estimates, implementation plans and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Write technical memorandums and reports.
Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; assistance with proposal preparation; coordination with subconsultants, regulatory agencies, project planning, budgeting, scheduling and other project management tasks.
Skills and Abilities:
- Completion of Civil Engineering Diploma or Degree from an Accredited Institution
- Experience in the civil design / water resources sector is an asse
- Eligible for future registration as either an AScT, C.E.T., C.Tech., or P.Eng. within the Province of work (or approved equivalent).
- Experience in hydrological and hydraulic analysis and modelling using various techniques and modelling software is an asset.
- Proficient in using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS, QGIS, PCSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, HEC_RAS, and other computer programs used for preparing reports, presentations and designs.
- Good verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
