Junior Graphic Designer

Description:

As a Junior Designer, assigned tasks will be largely production-based, with supportive opportunities to learn and grow along the way. You must be proficient at using industry-standard software to adapt and reformat artwork for social, web and out-of-home advertising. On the creative side, you will have opportunities to develop your own design work, from mood boarding and concept stages to executing final artwork.

To be successful in this role, you must work well independently but enjoy collaborating and learning from others. As a member of the design team, you will attend weekly virtual meetings with the rest of the designers and contribute to brainstorming. Working closely with the Design Team Lead, you must be comfortable receiving feedback and creative direction. As a member of the larger MarComm department, you will have opportunities to work cross-functionally with other in-house teams, including photo, video, web, marketing and communications.

While this position is fully remote, you may be required to occasionally travel to campus to attend photoshoots and in-person meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly virtual meetings with a team of 4 other graphic designers
  • Collaborate openly with others in the department, which may include brainstorming and mood boarding processes
  • Assist the design team with resizing and adapting campaign artwork to meet various specs and formats
  • Create compelling design treatments that align with the project’s objectives and NAIT's brand guidelines
  • Prepare final files for print and digital output
  • Organize and archive design files in our DAM (Digital Asset Management platform)
  • Help evolve the NAIT brand and update its brand guidelines
