Junior Environmental Specialist

 

Description:

Engtec Consulting Inc., a Canadian-owned consulting firm, is seeking a Junior Environmental Specialist to assist in environmental assessments and regulatory compliance tasks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work both in the field and office, collaborating directly with the Environmental Group Manager on a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) fieldwork.
✔ Perform Phase II ESA activities, including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and drilling supervision.
✔ Assist with field tasks related to excess soil regulation (O. Reg. 406/19).
✔ Prepare detailed Phase I and Phase II ESA reports.
✔ Assist in drafting project proposals.
✔ Liaise with site representatives and contractors.

Must-Have Qualifications:

Valid (G-Level) Ontario Driver’s License and own a vehicle with insurance.
✔ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
✔ Willingness to work in both field and office environments.
✔ Ability to handle fast-paced work environments.

Preferred Skills:

Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, report writing tools).
Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Strong report writing skills with excellent command of English (verbal & written).

Education Requirement:

Minimum: College Diploma in a relevant field.
